Guide for Reviewers

As a peer reviewer for AI Med, you are part of a valued community.

Role of the Reviewer

Scientific progress depends on communication that can be trusted. Manuscripts that pass initial editorial assessment are reviewed in depth by independent reviewers.

Objectivity and Conflicts

Reviewers should be objective and decline an invitation when a professional, personal, or financial affiliation could affect or appear to affect impartial judgment.

Constructive and Thorough Reports

A good review is fair, balanced, respectful, detailed, specific, and actionable. Reviewers should evaluate scientific rigour, originality, relevance, clarity, and compliance with the journal's requirements.

Confidentiality

Unpublished manuscripts, data, figures, reviewer reports, and editorial correspondence must be treated as confidential and must not be shared or uploaded to unapproved services.

Editorial Decisions

Reviewer recommendations are advisory. The editor retains final responsibility for acceptance or rejection and may seek further review when needed.
